Toru Takemitsu (1930-1996)

Rain Tree Sketch I (Takemitsu)

Rain Tree Sketch (1982) and Rain Tree Sketch II (1992) belong to Takemitsu’s nature works, specifically to his “waterscape” series. The Rain Tree Sketches integrate techniques of Western music such as regular and irregular rhythmic gesture, motives and pitch collections, and a simple ternary form with the silence effects of Japanese music.

Partita for keyboard No. 4 in D Major, BWV 828, is a keyboard suite by Bach, originally dated 1728. It is the fourth suite in his Clavier-Übung I.

Prelude Op.23 No.4 in D major (Rachmaninov)

This is part of Rachmaninov's Ten Preludes. Op. 23, No. 4 presents a sustained melody that becomes increasingly varied but always present

Mayuto Narutani - Piano

Mayuko Narutani is a Japanese pianist recognised for her work as both a soloist and chamber musician. She has received prizes at international and Japanese chamber music competitions. She is currently studying for an MA in Piano Performance at the Royal Academy of Music with Colin Stone, where she is supported by a scholarship.
