Biography
Maurizio Baudino graduated at the “G. F. Ghedini” Conservatory of Cuneo with first class honours and attended various masterclasses. He owes the improvement of his musical and instrumental education to Maestros G. Bandini and G. Puddu. He also expanded his knowledge of chamber music with Maestro K. Bogino at the prestigious Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola.
He won several prizes in many competitions, and he performs both in solo and chamber ensembles. He has performed in prestigious Italian, European and South American halls such as the Mediterranean Conference Centre of Valletta (Malta), the Mariinsky theatre in Saint Petersburg, the Stanislavsky theatre in Moscow, the Großer Musikvereinssaal in Wien and Teatro dell’Opera in Rome. He played under the direction of Maestro Riccardo Muti and Maestro Wayne Marshall.
Together with guitarist Dario Vannini, he released the album “Ecstasy of Colours” in 2024 under Da Vinci Editions, presenting the album on various concert tours in Great Britain and Mexico. His musical activity touches different forms and genres. He has been creating new plays dedicated to kids and teenagers with the theatre company “Il Melarancio” and actress Elisa Dani, writing original scores.
He has been working with actress and singer Celeste Gugliandolo and has founded the Tres por Tango project with whom he has performed in important Italian and foreign institutions. With Glissato publishing, he published his first collection of gradual pieces for the first year of guitar studies and two collections of intermediate level with Sinfonica publishing edited by Maestro Bruno Giuffredi.
He’s been particularly fond of teaching therefore he’s regularly invited to teach in different masterclasses, so as to be a member of the jury in national and international competitions. He’s actually teaching classical guitar at the “E. Bianchi” high school in Cuneo.
