    Rain Tree Sketch IĀ (Takemitsu)

    Rain Tree Sketch (1982) and Rain Tree Sketch II (1992) belong to Takemitsu’s nature works, specifically to his ā€œwaterscapeā€ series. The Rain Tree Sketches integrate techniques of Western music such as regular and irregular rhythmic gesture, motives and pitch collections, and a simple ternary form with the silence effects of Japanese music.

Key information for concert goers

When

Every Thursday at 12:45pm (except August & over Christmas). Performances last around 60 minutes. Please enter quietly as there is a noon service in the Lady Chapel.

How much?

Entry is £7 per adult (card or cash), under 18s and carers are free. The price includes a programme. Donations are welcomed to subsidise the larger ensembles.
