About the ensemble

Buck Brass is among the UK’s foremost brass chamber ensembles, known for its thoughtful programming, technical precision, and contribution to the brass repertoire. Founded in 2013 by graduates of the Royal Academy of Music, the ensemble has established itself as a leading force in brass chamber music.

Dedicated to broadening the scope of brass trio and quartet music, Buck Brass champions both original compositions and transcriptions of works by composers such as Poulenc, Böhme, Ibert, and Beethoven. The ensemble has further expanded the repertoire by commissioning new works from composers including Steven Verhelst, Wendy Hiscocks, and Timothy Bowers. Collaborations with both emerging and established composers have resulted in a diverse and growing body of work that highlights the expressive and technical possibilities of brass instruments.

With a busy performance and recording schedule, Buck Brass has appeared at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues, including HM Treasury, London Guildhall, St. James’s Piccadilly, Lambeth Palace, The King’s Chapel of the Savoy, The Queen’s Chapel at St James’s Palace, Westminster Abbey, and St. George’s Hanover Square.
